Art Galleries and Websites
So I have been working on this new website for a few months now, and I am delighted that we are now live with it. This is the first time we have had a website that you can actually buy original Scottish art from, as I had always shied away from the 'click and 'buy' internet purchasing option. I had always felt in the past that selling one-off original work online was risky as you can never really get a true feeling for a painting, sculpture or piece of art from a photograph - they really need to be seen in the flesh.
As technology increasingly plays a part in our lives, however, my views have changed. I myself am an avid online shopper (granted not for original art - I always do that in person), and I realised that we really HAD to offer our clients the chance to buy online.
So here we have the new website, which is a constant effort to keep up to date. We have much, much more art on offer in the gallery than is humanly possible to put on the website (although we will try our very best!), and really, the joy of seeing a painting face to face so-to-speak, can never be replaced by (albeit it superb) technology. A trip to our (or any for that matter) gallery is always a delight!
But in the meantime - websites can be a very helpful tool indeed.
